Sushi Garden (Lougheed)

A while back, I went to Sushi Garden located in Lougheed with my family and boyfriend. Sushi Garden is a Japanese restaurant that doesn't take reservations so you must put down your name upon arriving and all the people in your party must be present in order to be seated. Much like its other location across from Metrotown, our arrival for dinner was met with a large line up of other waiting customers.

If you want food that is worth your dollar, ordering the Salmon Sashimi is a must. One reason this restaurant seems to be so popular is because of their generous portions, especially for sashimi.

The Alaska Roll seems to be a specialty of Sushi Garden because they use a special homemade sauce of their own. I normally dislike eating avacado, especially by itself, so I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried this roll and found myself liking it a lot.

Next, we ordered one of my favorite, the Chopped Scallop Roll. We found that it was not rolled together firmly enough, which usually isn't a problem during other visits. The sushi was on the verge of breaking apart once we got it between our chopsticks. Despite this, the roll still tasted pretty good.

Picture here from top to bottom: Negitoro RollUnagi Roll and the Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Roll.  Everything tasted pretty standard, no complaints.
Sushi Garden has good food that will fill you up without making a large dent in your wallet. My sister also suggests calling in to order takeout to avoid the line ups and having to wait.
