The first thing we decided to try was the Dip Combo Platter ($7.95) as our appetizer. The three dips were humus, made of chick pea and garlic; tzatziki, made of yogurt with cucumber and garlic; and tarama, made of red caviar fish roe pate. My boyfriend and I both thoroughly enjoyed all three with the pita bread that came with the platter. I personally love anything with garlic and it provided a nice mild kick to the dips.
We also ordered two entrées, each which came with greek salad. This was not bad but nothing special.
For the first entrée, we ordered the Seafood Pasta ($17.95), which was spaghetti with one or two pieces of tiger prawn and a mediocre amount of calamari. We also opted for garlic sauce over tomato. This dish was definitely the disappointment of the night because I was expecting more from a dish that is almost $18. The seafood was lacking, the spaghetti was overcooked and overall, the dish was bland with the exception of garlic and nothing else for flavour.
The Calamarakia ($16.95) was the second entrée that we ordered to share. This came with crispy fried squid, rice pilaf and vegetables. While the fried squid went well with the tzatziki sauce it came with, I did not care much for the vegetables. Next time, I would just order the cheaper calamarakia appetizer for just the fried squid.
To sum up our experience, there were hits and misses with the dishes we ordered but I wouldn't mind returning to try their meat-based entrées in the future.
