I had originally wanted to come to Westender under the pretense that we could get samgyupsal here, but turns out that while they do serve the pork belly meat, you no longer get to barbeque it yourself. Instead, you get a meager amount of grilled pieces for ~$10. This was pretty disappointing since previous reviews of the restaurant boasted of $12 meals that included everything. So we opted for shabu shabu as an alternative, which was about $30.

Hanafubuki Sushi
Almost a year ago, I came across a groupon for a five course meal for two for only $22. Thinking that this was quite the steal, I immediately bought it after confirming its decent rating on Urbanspoon. True to the procrastinator that I am, it wasn't until recently, around a couple weeks until the deal was due to expire, that I went to Hanafubuki Sushi for lunch with the boyfriend.
It should be warned that the restaurant is the epitome of a hole in the wall type of restaurant. There were only 3 tables that could seat two people each. Also, when we came here at around 1 pm on a Saturday, we were informed that there would be a wait of at least an hour because of call-in orders. So for future patrons, I would definitely avoid the peak hours during lunch and dinner.
So onto our $45.50 valued five course meal..

Capstone Fondue (Robson)
One random night last year, I spontaneously came across and bought a groupon for High Tea for two at Capstone Tea & Fondue. It wasn't until recently that my boyfriend and I ventured out to Robson to finally make use of the groupon. Upon our arrival, it was packed with a line up so we had to wait, despite making reservations. When we were seated, I informed our waitress of the groupon I had, which includes
"two cheese-fondue dips with assorted veggies, pastries, and bread; two chocolate-fondue dips with assorted fresh seasonal fruits, pastries, and tea cookies; and two cups of house-blend tea"

Kintaro
There are countless reviews of Kintaro on Urbanspoon already so I will keep mine short and sweet. The main thing to be aware of is the line up you will most definitely be faced with during lunch or dinner rushes. Also, you can have your bowl of noodles packed to go if you cannot finish it there (but there are no take-out orders).
